About Us

GetAway is a vacation rental company rooted in Killington, Vermont and York, Maine, built around the local owners and guests we serve. It started with one property and a hunch. Founder Fred Cercena grew up skiing Vermont, then discovered the state's summers by chance in the early 2000s, from cool nights and festivals to hiking, biking, and kayaking. He bought his first Vermont rental in 2008, added a condo two years later, and began managing homes for other local owners. By 2011 he was running seven properties on the side, so he left his marketing career to go all in, and GetAway was born. Today we manage hand-selected homes across Vermont and Maine, still built on the same belief: local expertise and genuine care make for a better stay.
